A Message From Our Team
Kids are a big deal to God, so they’re a big deal to us!
Each week in our Highlands Kids and Highlands Kids Jr environments, our team brings the Bible to life through sharing Bible stories, playing games, singing and dancing, and diving deeper into a foundational Biblical truth. We offer age specific classes so kids can interact with other kids their own age and learn in a way that connects with them.
Highlands Kids Jr and Highlands Kids meet during each scheduled Sunday service time.
ABOUT HK & HK JR
Our goal is for Highlands Kids to be the favorite part of your child’s week! They will experience praise and worship, a creatively communicated Bible lesson, crafts, games, and more. We believe that church is fun and loving God is the greatest thing! Your child will catch the enthusiasm and have a great time. Most importantly our environments are Safe and Secure!

At the Highlands Kids desk, our team will have you fill out a short form about your child (or children). Then, they will give you a Security Tag with a paging number on it. You will also present this Security Tag following the service to pick up your child. No child will be released without the proper Security Tag.

You are welcome to peek in the window and check how your child is doing. But in order to be in a classroom, we require our volunteers to have a background check and interview with us. The safety of your child is of the utmost importance to us. We are careful to only allow approved volunteers with the children. We would welcome you as a volunteer, if you so desired!

Once you register with us, we place your information into our HK & HKJR Families Group in CCB, which is our church database and communication system.
Our team sends out weekly emails that includes information about the curriculum, series and upcoming Highlands events!

Your child will have a blast! Every classroom is equipped with activities and toys designed for your child's age. They will experience praise and worship, a creatively communicated Bible lesson, crafts, games, and more! We believe that church is fun and loving God is the greatest thing! Your child will catch the enthusiasm and have a great time!

Many parents are involved with their children in Highlands Kids, and our team is always excited to welcome new members to our Dream Team who love Jesus and love pouring into the lives of their children. The very first statement we made on this page is that “Kids are a big deal to God, so they’re a big deal to us!" As proof that kids are big deal to us, we have invested in expanding our church for the Next Generation. The new expansion is specifically for discipling the next generation of Highlands Church! We are so excited for all that God is doing and providing as we go beyond our now and plan for our future, and we would love your family to be a part of it all.

VISION STATEMENT
Our vision is for Highlands Kids to have a genuine relationship with God, build a Biblical foundation for their lives, become a disciple who makes disciples, and loves being at church.

January Series
Inventors take ordinary objects and transform them into extraordinary innovations with some creativity and a lot of tinkering. But Jesus didn’t need tools, blueprints, or a workshop to make extraordinary things happen. On the outside, Jesus may have seemed ordinary , but his life, actions and love regularly defied expectations. He transformed ordinary people and situations, show us what an extraordinary God can do. All January, we’re discussing how EXTRAordinary Jesus truly is!
February Series
Jesus was a true trailblazer—not just for his time, but for all time! Jesus' teachings and way of life often went against the grain of what people expected, showing us a whole new way to live and love. While blazing new trails, Jesus never wavered from the path of following God, and he paved the way for us to follow his lead.
March Series
Getting invited to a party is one of the best feelings, and being left out is one of the worst. But there's good news—Jesus never leaves anyone out! He invites everyone to spend time with him, experience his love, and share it with others. This series will remind kids that Jesus' invitation is always open, and we're never too far away to join the party!
April Series
This series kicks off with the greatest news ever—Jesus is alive! But even his closest friends were surprised by what they discovered. Each week, kids will follow the clues in the Bible, looking at the stories leading up to Easter and connecting them to other moments in Jesus’ life and ministry. Along the way, they’ll see that the Bible isn’t just full of clues about who Jesus is—it’s the complete story of God’s love.
May Series
Can you remember the last time you got lost in a really good book? The epic quests, daring escapes, and wild adventures make it hard to put down! While our lives might not include mythical creatures or fantastical lands, we’re all part of an incredible adventure—following God and helping others do the same. Each week, kids will explore the amazing and true stories about Jesus that show us what it means to live for God.
HIGHLANDS KIDS GOAL
In Highlands Kids, we know and believe the children are our future. We believe it’s our responsibility as ministry leaders to disciple each child. We believe we are disciples who make disciples. We believe and teach from the Bible to help children build a Biblical foundation for their lives. We believe it is our responsibility to partner with families to help train up and teach foundational Bible truths as a church family. The foundational Bible truths and habits will be seeds planted in their hearts and minds and it will not come back void. We believe that we can lead the next generation in a fun and life-giving way so that they love being at church.
